INTRODUCTION Holly Scarf is knitted back and forth in garter stitch with an I-cord edges. The scarf is knitted from tip to tip in one long piece. Finally, the hood is sewn together with mattress stitch.
Teqnics used in the pattern:
- Cast on.
- Knit garter stitch back and forth.
- Knit I-cord edges.
- Knit increases.
- Knit decreases.
- Sew together with mattress stitch.
SIZES Small (Large) Fits head circumference 50 - 55 (55 – 62) cm [19 ½ – 21 ½ (21 ½ - 24 1/2) inches]
LENGTH 136 (138) cm [53 ½ (54 ½) inches] (measured from the tip of the scarf to the top of the hood).
WIDTH 22 (24) cm [8 ¾ - (9 ½) inches] (Measured lengthwise of the hood after stitching).
GAUGE 15 stitches x 26 rows in garter stitch on needle 6 mm [US 10] = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches]
KNITTING NEEDLE Circular needles 6 mm [US 10] (60 or 80 cm) [24 ore 32 inches].
YARN For this Sweater you will need an aran weight yarn ore a DK weight yarn held together with a lace weight yarn. You need approx. 450 (500) m [492 (546) yards]
OPTION 1 350 (400) g The Merry Merino 70 GOTS from Kremke Soul Wool (50 g=70 m)
OPTION 2 250 (250) g ECO SOFT from Isager (50 g = 125 m) together with 50 (75) g silk mohair from Isager (25 g = 212 m). Knitted with a thread of each quality.
OPTION 3 200-250 (250) g Snefnug Natur from CaMa Rose (50 g = 110 meter) together with 50-75 (75) g midnatssol from CaMa Rose (25 g = 200 m) Knitted with a thread of each quality.
OPTION 4 250 (300) g ECO Chunky Andean Wool from KAOS Yarn (50 g =100 m) knitted together with 75 (75) g Organic Brushed Alpaca from KAOS Yarn (25 g =225 m) Knitted with a thread of each quality.
